The Foxcroft School will host a talk by Jennifer Pharr Davis, the 2018 Alison Harrison Goodyear Fellow and National Geographic “Adventurer of the Year,” on Saturday, Jan. 6.
Davis’ lecture will run from 10 to 11 a.m. and will be the keynote address for the school’s first Wellness Weekend, which will feature workshops, panels, films and other activities focused around girls’ emotional and physical development.
Davis is the author of five books, founder of the Blue Ridge Hiking Co. and record-breaking hiker. She has walked more than 13,000 miles of trail on six continents. In 2011, she became the first woman to set the overall speed record for hiking the Appalachian Trail—completing the 2,185-mile trek in 46 days, 11 hours and 20 minutes.
The lecture is free to the public, but space is limited
