The Tarara Summer Concert Series opens its 22nd season on Saturday night with its traditional kick-off band—’80 music powerhouse The Reflex.

The series, a past winner of Visit Loudoun’s award for Best Annual Event, will feature live music on the outdoor stage at Tarara Winery every Saturday evening through the end of September.

Although the winery hasn’t reopened after the pandemic, series producer Rusty Foster said people are excited for the return of live music to the popular venue and he looking forward to making the season the best yet. The scheduled lineup of bands come from Florida, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and the DMV and the venue’s reputation has made it a major attraction for bands across the country, assuring patrons high quality of performances.

This year, the shows, which can attract more than 3,000 attendees have been capped at 75% capacity to provide more room to spread out. That makes early ticket purchases and season passes even more important this year. Private tents already are sold out for several shows

Foster has partnered with Loudoun Brewing Company to have two beers specifically created for the Concert Series—IPA and Blonde Ale and beer will be available for purchase at each concert this season. Concert attendees are permitted to bring unopened bottles of Tarara wine, and Tarara wine will be available for purchase. No outside alcohol is permitted under ABC regulations and purchased beer and wine must be consumed on site.

Organizers are taking extra precautions to follow the appropriate COVID-19 protocols—there will be additional sanitation efforts, disinfectants will be more readily used, face masks will be encouraged for anyone that has not been vaccinated, and those not feeling well are asked to stay home.

Gates open at 5 p.m. Concerts start at 6 p.m.

The complete schedule can be found at Tickets may be purchased for each individual show, but series veterans find value in the discounted season passes.
