There may not be a Fourth of July parade or fireworks in Leesburg this year, but the town still plans to get into the holiday spirit.

The Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Leesburg Police Department and Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company, will host a Fourth of July “wave parade” from Monday, June 29, to Thursday, July 2, beginning at 6 p.m.

Similar to the annual Santa Ride, the parade will feature Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty who will ride on top of a decorated fire truck while touring neighborhoods. Detailed routes will be available at leesburgva.gov, and on the town’s social media accounts each night. Residents may also choose to download the “GLYMPSE” app and follow along on their smartphones. The link will be posted to social media prior to each show.
