Twenty couples enjoyed an evening of picnic dinners and dancing in the historic Oatlands gardens on Saturday, part of a sold-out outing designed to offer some post-quarantine fun while adhering to physical distances protocols.

On the terraced “dance floor” framed by 200-year-old boxwood hedges, Adam King and April Rodriguez, of Dance King Studios in Leesburg, coached the couples on a variety of dance steps.

The program also provided the public with a chance to get out and enjoy a bit of fresh air on the estate’s 400-acre grounds, as well as some income for the historic site that has been closed for tours and weddings during the pandemic.

The next dance night, on June 13, is already sold out, but as of this writing spaces were available for the June 27 event.
