Downtown Leesburg is getting a head start on St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with a full day of events Saturday. 

The folks at Sidebar kick things off early with the annual Leprechaun Loop, starting at 10 a.m. and continuing late into the night.

The event will be held at SideBar and 14 Loudoun with a pop-up bar in the parking lot. There will be live music, DJs, drinks, food and everything Irish. Admission is free, but presale tickets offer a special cup, Irish shot glass necklace and two drink tokens for $12.50.

The Shap Duo plays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Just South of 7 performs 4 to 8 p.m. DJs take over for the late night at both 14 Loudoun and Sidebar. 

Crooked Run Brewing and Wild Hare Cidery plans a Saturday afternoon party, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Market Station. Fiddlin’ Dave and Morgan will perform, Wishing Well dry Irish stout will be served and there will be a raffle to benefit Loudoun Hunger Relief.

MacDowell’s plans a Blarney Bash form 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday, with the Point of Rock band performing and plenty of Irish-themed food specials and green beer toasts.

Tarbender’s Lounge is going Greek, not green. They plan a college-style toga party starting at 9 p.m. with drinking games and a DJ.

On Tuesday, both  Spanky’s Shenanigans in Leesburg and O’Faolain’s in CountrySide have full schedules of events to celebrate the Irish. 

Spanky’s will open at 7 a.m., with live music on the deck starting at 3 p.m. and continuing through the night inside. O’Faolain’s gets started with kegs and eggs at 8 a.m. and live music starting at 11 a.m.
