The Middleburg Community Center will host its annual Independence Day Celebration from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4.
The celebration will begin when the pool opens at 11 a.m. and will pick up later in the day with a children’s parade at 6 p.m. Participants are asked to line up in the gravel lot behind the community center across Stonewall Avenue at 5:30 p.m. Police Chief A.J. Panebianco will lead the parade through town. One participant will be awarded first place for his or her float, which could be a bicycle, wagon or another vessel.
A bluegrass concert will follow from 7-9 p.m. in the baseball field next to the pool and the fireworks show will begin at 9 p.m. and stretch a half hour. There will be food and activities offered all day long.
