The annual Leesburg Airshow will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Leesburg Executive Airport—providing a snapshot of the general aviation world, along with some daring, high-flying exploits.
The event includes a static display area exhibiting many unusual, experimental and antique aircraft, including a P 51 Mustang and T6 Texan. Other exhibitors will showcase flight training opportunities, corporate transportation businesses and emergency rescue operations. There also will be a variety of children’s activities and food vendors.
The highlight of the program is the afternoon skydiving and aerobatic performances featuring daring pilots RJ Gritter, Adam Messenheimer, Mark Meredith, Scott Francis, the Bealeton-based Flying Circus, and the CAF National Capital Squadron.
The airport is located at 1991 Sycolin Road. Parking for the event will off-site, at Tuscarora High School and Cornerstone Chapel, with free shuttle service throughout the day.
The is a suggested donation is $3 per person or $5 per family to help defray the cost of the event.
