Since its inception 15 years ago, Todd Wright has been an anchor of the Acoustic on the Green summer concert series in Leesburg. When he returns to the Town Green stage Saturday evening with Tommy Gann and Patrick Thornton it won’t be a typical Todd Wright show.
Yes, there still will be heartfelt ballads and humous wiener dog stories.
But it also will be Wright’s birthday—and he’s bringing the gifts.
At the show he’ll have copies of his new CD—his first collection of new songs in eight years—since is 40×40 project when he wrote, recorded and produced one song a week for 40 weeks.
Listeners to Cerphe Colwell’s Music Planet Radio recently got a preview of the new songs, but Saturday’s concert will be the first time many have been performed in public.
The free concert begins at 7 p.m. at the Leesburg Town Hall, 25 W. Market St. Bring a picnic and a lawn chair, but leave alcohol and pets at home.
