Update: Because of weather concerns, the event has been postponed.
Runners of all skill levels are invited to the annual Berserkle on the Squirkle 5K fun run this Sunday, Dec. 31.
The New Year’s Eve run will begin at 4 p.m. and should come to a close around the time of the German New Year at 6 p.m. This will give runners a chance to head home, freshen up and head back out to bring in the new year. Participants should show up at 3 p.m. to register and warm up before the race.
A crazy costume contest will also take place at the event, with judges looking for best costume, best decorated stroller, best dressed dog, wildest hair, most serious runner and the best family costume.
Instead of charging $10 for admission this year, runners are asked to bring food donations for the town’s food pantry.
